Broken Bay Catholic Schools Celebrate Catholic Schools Week

Catholic school students across the Diocese of Broken Bay will celebrate ‘Youth in Action: Active in Faith, Active in Learning’ during Catholic Schools Week- 22 to 28 March.

Now in its fourth year, Catholic Schools Week will involve more than 240,000 students and 20,000 teachers and staff from 614 schools across NSW and the ACT.

Catholic students will be celebrating the week by inviting parents and the local community to visit their schools to experience the wonderful teaching and learning that takes place.

Visitors will be able to tour schools to see a range of learning programs in different classrooms and venues including technology, sport, performing arts, debating, special education and all the key learning areas.

“It will be a wonderful week raising awareness and celebrating the strength and distinctiveness of Catholic schools,” said Br Tony Whelan cfc, Director of Schools, Diocese of Broken Bay.

“It will be an opportunity for Catholic schools to showcase what is done every day in our schools. It will also be an opportunity to strengthen relationships between all who have a stake in our schools – students, staff, families, priests, parishioners, and members of the wider community.

“We are immensely proud of our Catholic heritage, and are committed to offering children in our schools the opportunity to follow Jesus as members of the Catholic community. Our schools are continuing the tradition of providing excellent opportunities for young Australians to develop academically, spiritually and socially within a caring and nurturing Catholic community.”
