Career Adviser Scholarship for MacKillop Catholic College Warnervale

 

Mr Russell Jones, Careers Advisor at MacKillop Catholic College, Warnervale has been awarded an Australian Government Scholarship for Career Advisers.
‘Study scholarships’ worth $5000 each were awarded to provide support for 76 people across Australia to undertake post-graduate studies and upgrade their career adviser skills and qualifications.
The annual Scholarship for Career Advisers program is part of the Australian Government’s Career Advice Australia initiative, complementing a range of other career development strategies.
Russell Jones will use his scholarship to undertake a Postgraduate Certificate in Career Development, with future plans to continue onto a Masters in Career Development at the Australian Catholic University.

Russell has been in the Careers Advisor role at MacKillop Catholic College since 2006 beginning with the college’s first Year 10 cohort.

Careers Advisors in Broken Bay Catholic schools are benefitting from the scholarship program, along with other recent initiatives including the utilisation of a framework for careers development which formalises the role of Careers Advisors and provide greater professional support.
