50 years of service for Josephine

Josephine McGuinness was recently recognised for 50 years of service to Catholic education at the Diocesan staff mass for the Catholic Schools Office.

Josephine is teacher librarian at St Patrick’s Catholic School, East Gosford. She commenced teaching at St Luke’s, Revesby in 1960 and has taught in seven Catholic schools in Sydney and Broken Bay. She has been a classroom teacher, Teacher of English as a Second Language, Senior Teacher and Religious Education Coordinator. She has been a much-loved member of staff at St Patrick’s since 1979.

Josephine was presented with a framed Certificate of Appreciation by Bishop David Walker and Brother Tony Whelan, Director of Schools at the conclusion of the mass at Our Lady of the Rosary Cathedral in Waitara.

"I was overwhelmed by the acclamation of my peers after the presentation," said Josephine.

Forty-two staff at Broken Bay Catholic schools were also recognised for 25 years service to Catholic education at the mass. They were presented with a Certificate in Appreciation and Service to Catholic Education by Bishop David Walker.
