St Joseph’s teachers awarded
Two teachers at St Joseph’s Catholic College, East Gosford have recently received prestigious teaching awards.
“Every day there are thousands of dedicated teachers working in schools where they are making a positive difference to the lives of their students,” Ms Firth said. “The recipients of this award are the most exceptional and inspire their students to achieve their best.
“Teachers are the cornerstone of a great education system and it’s inspiring to see these individuals recognised by their communities, who obviously place great value on their abilities.
“I congratulate all of these outstanding teachers for their continued great work with students and thank them on their accomplishments for which they, their families, their schools and communities should be so proud.”
Japanese teacher Alison Walsh has been successful in gaining a Federal Government Endeavour Language Teacher Fellowship (ELTF).
The ELTF, a part of the Australian Government’s broader Endeavour Awards, provides opportunities for practicing languages teachers in Australian schools to improve their language and cultural skills through intensive short-term study programs. The study programs take place over a three-week period in January each year. Alison will be spending three weeks studying in Japan this coming January.
“We are very proud of Kathy and Alison,” said St Joseph’s principal Stephen Walsh. “These awards attest to the high standards and dedication of the teaching staff at St Joseph’s. Congratulations to them both.” |
