St Leo’s Aerobics Champions Flying High

St Leo’s Catholic College, Wahroonga has a new team of champions.

Seven aerobics teams competed in the State Aerobics Championships held at UTS Lindfield on 26-27 June 2010.

Heart-pumping high energy routines were put to the test and the results were fantastic for St Leo’s, with two teams winning Gold and two teams winning Silver.  Three teams have now qualified for the Nationals to be held in Brisbane in August.

The dedicated students and their coaches have been training all year. “It’s great to see that team work and dedication has paid dividends,” said Head Coach Josh Holmes.

Each team now has just a few weeks of serious training before heading to Brisbane to represent St Leo’s and NSW.

“They will be honing and perfecting their ‘jacks’, ‘kicks’ and ‘transitions’ as well as improving their aerobic intensity, and of course practising those magnificent smiles which contribute to their showmanship,” said Assistant Coach Karen Heugh.
