Mass for Year 6 students
Last week Year 6 students from the Diocese of Broken Bay Catholic primary schools gathered together in their clusters for a Mass with Bishop David Walker. Masses were held for the North Shore cluster at Our Lady of the Rosary Cathedral in Waitara, the Peninsula cluster at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Forestville, and the Central Coast cluster at Holy Spirit Church, Kincumber. In his homilies, Bishop David spoke to the students about leadership in their schools. “As Year 6 students, you are all leaders in your school communities, and role models for the younger students,” said Bishop David. Approximately 1800 students attended the Masses throughout the week, 600 at each of the three venues, together with teachers and principals. “It is great for the students of each cluster to come together to celebrate Mass as a community of Catholic Schools,” said Bernard Cumming, Education Officer, Mission Services at the Catholic Schools Office. “At the Central Coast Mass, each of the 11 schools attended to a ministry, including the offertory, readings, choir and liturgical movement.”
