2011 Review of Broken Bay Catholic Schools BER Projects

The Catholic Schools Office, Diocese of Broken Bay has published ‘Broken Bay Catholic Schools - Building the Education Revolution 2011 Review’, outlining the Diocese’s response to the Australian Government’s investment in schools.
The review profiles each of the 43 school projects in the Diocese of Broken Bay and the manner in which they are benefiting their communities.
Director of Schools, Diocese of Broken Bay, Br Tony Whelan cfc AM, thanked the Australian Government for its investment in all Australian schools across all sectors.

“This investment has been a once in a lifetime transformational leap in the quality of school environment and indelibly demonstrates the nation’s leaders’ commitment to our children and young people.”

“In this new world of specialist facilities we have been catapulted into the technological age and at the same time ensured that our schools are developed in a sustainable, environmentally-friendly way.”

The Primary Schools for the 21st Century program saw the addition of new multi-purpose halls, libraries, early learning centres, and the upgrading of classrooms and associated facilities.  The National Pride program enabled many schools to renew carpet, undertake painting, provide new furniture, modernise outdoor facilities and generally enrich facilities.  Three Broken Bay secondary schools have benefited from the Trade Training Centre initiative and one school gained funding for a Language Centre.

“I am proud to report that Broken Bay Catholic schools have achieved value for money, on time budgets and high quality results,” Br Tony said.
