New Trade Training Centre for the Central Coast
St Peter’s Catholic College, Tuggerah, in partnership with MacKillop Catholic College, Warnervale and the Aspect Central Coast School for Autism Students, have received Federal Government funding to improve their vocational facilities as part of the proposed Trade Training Centre Project. A commercial kitchen and restaurant area will be established at St Peter’s, as well as an upgrade of Metal and Engineering facilities. These facilities at the St Peter’s site will facilitate access and bring significant benefits for Aspect’s Autism students. MacKillop will have a new construction centre and a new food service area for their existing commercial kitchen. The two Colleges look forward to working together in the future to provide enhanced educational opportunities for students. Mrs Pauline Dibb, VET and Careers Coordinator at St Peter’s says that the College was overjoyed to receive the funding. Pauline also said the College was experiencing increased demand for vocational pathways. Mr Russell Jones, VET and Careers Co-ordinator at MacKillop welcomes the increase in the schools’ capacity to deliver quality Vocational Education and linking of students to the wider world of work. Construction of the Trade Training Centre facilities is expected to commence this year.
