Gifted Education

What is Giftedness?

The Diocese of Broken Bay has a firm commitment to enhancing the way we meet the individual learning needs of all students within the Catholic Experience. Our Catholic life celebrates their unique gifts that each of us as a human being has been given. All children have many and varied gifts however, within any school there is a proportion of students whose natural abilities - 'gifts' or 'aptitudes' - are of an exceptional level. These students are considered "Gifted".

What is happening in our Diocese?

The Diocese of Broken Bay has a firm commitment to enhancing the way we meet the individual learning needs of all students.

Initiatives that have been or are currently being undertaken by our Diocese to support gifted education include:

• Gifted Education Brochure - A Guide for Parents
  This brochure was developed in 2005 to assist parents in understanding how the Diocese of Broken Bay is responding to the need for gifted education.
• Parent Advisory Group - Gifted
  A small team of parents who liaise with the Education Officer, Gifted Education, in order to support their school communities and promote gifted education and further partnerships between parents, schools and the Catholic Schools Office.
